This spring, I got everything I needed to care for my yard, including insect control, a soil test kit, lawn fertilizer, and weed killer, from Sunday Lawn Care. Perhaps best known for its subscription-based DIY lawn service plans, Sunday also offers a full range of à la carte eco-friendly products and packages that simplify yard work. I chose a Total Home Pest Plan to eliminate and prevent nuisance bugs from getting in my house, the Soil Test Kit and Analysis to find out which nutrients my lawn will need to look its best, and the Spring Granular Fertilizer Kit to get my grass started in the right direction this year. Here’s what I like about these products.
Insect Control

Sunday offers different levels of insect control for larger and smaller properties, and different types of bugs. The medium Pest Plan was my best option. It includes ready-to-spray Sunday Bug Doom insect killer in a trigger spray bottle for spot applications, and in a pair of gallon-size jugs for wide area treatments. The kit also comes with a motorized jug-top spray wand that lets you spray directly from the large jugs.
The active ingredient in Bug Doom is pyrethrin, which is effective against dozens of crawling and flying insect pests in the lawn, garden, and home. It doesn’t stink and doesn’t leave long-lasting toxic residue. I like that this kit requires no mixing. Just open the jug, remove the inner seal, screw on the battery-powered sprayer, and it’s ready to work.
Soil Test
Sunday Soil Test Kit & Analysis

I wanted to have my soil professionally tested to dial in my lawn fertilizer program. The Sunday Soil Test Kit included a soil sampling tool, a kraft bag, a soil box to ship the sample in, and a prepaid shipping label. Including the core sampling tool was a nice touch because it removes a nice, neat plug, unlike the large hole that would be left by a garden trowel.
It took about 10 minutes to prepare a soil specimen and send it in for testing. I mixed 5 samples from all over the yard, packed the soil for shipping, and put it in my mailbox for pickup. The lab analysis will be posted to my Sunday account in about 4 weeks. It will tell me which nutrients are plentiful in the soil, which ones I’ll need to add in the way of fertilizer, and how to adjust the pH for optimum grass health.
Weed Control and Lawn Food
Sunday Spring Granular Fertilizer Kit

Fertility and weed control are cornerstones of an effective lawn care routine. Sunday’s Spring Granular Fertilizer Kit includes 24-0-4 lawn food and broadleaf weed killer, providing a strong framework to build on. The Core Sea Green fertilizer is fortified with calcium and iron to boost root development and drought resistance ahead of summer stress. Iron HEDTA-based Dandelion Doom kills established broadleaf weeds like dandelions and clover, but does not harm lawn grass.
I went with this single seasonal step instead of a year-round fertilizer program because I am waiting for my soil test results to inform future needs. For now, I wanted to knock out the weeds and stimulate the grass to fill in the voids. This is a great combo for that.
The Sunday Difference
The Sunday Lawn Care website and extensive product line made it easy for me to find what I needed for my lawn. The weed and pest control products are effective, safer for the environment than some popular alternatives when used as instructed, and require minimal handling before application. Whether you are a seasoned lawn care veteran or a new lawn caretaker, Sunday Lawn Care is a value-added brand that is definitely worth your consideration.
