VINCI Construction strengthens Canadian presence with acquisition of Modern Group of Companies

Strategic acquisition positions VINCI for continued growth within the Canadian market.

It was announced recently that global concessions, energy solutions and construction company, VINCI Construction, has acquired New Brunswick-based Modern Group of Companies, extending its reach further into Eastern Canada and strengthening its overall positioning within the Canadian market.

Bolstering capacity

The acquisition bolsters VINCI’s roadwork and civil engineering capacity and allows it to vertically integrate, assuming control of two aggregate quarries and asphalt mix production. Modern Group of Companies generated revenue of approximately $80 million in 2025 and has served as an influential player within the Greater Monton Area for decades.

It’s also a move that further strengthens VINCI’s foothold in the region, complementing its 2022 acquisition of Northern Construction, which is also extremely active in road construction and asphalt mix and aggregates production in Eastern Canada.
