Although Stihl markets it as a garden pruner, it behaves more like a scaled-down chainsaw in real-world use. It sliced through small limbs quickly and cleanly, but what really stood out was how smoothly it handled thicker material.
I tried it out on a 5-inch log, expecting the small tool to struggle or stop once the cut deepened. Instead, the GTA 30 pulled steadily all the way through as I gently rocked the blade—similar to the technique you’d use with a larger chainsaw during tougher cuts.
