Is the Waterdrop M6H easy to set up?
Yes—and that’s what makes this unit stand out from traditional RO systems. Instead of installing it beneath a sink, the M6H sits directly on a countertop. After inserting the filter and filling the reservoir, the only setup step was running three flush cycles to clean the system before use.
The wastewater compartment is built neatly into the rear reservoir, making disposal simple and mess-free. I also appreciated that the system clearly walks users through the setup process, which removes much of the intimidation people often associate with reverse osmosis systems. There’s nothing whatsoever difficult about using the Waterdrop M6H.
How good does the water taste?
The taste is amazing. The water came out crystal clear with none of the odor or aftertaste that can make some tap water unpleasant to drink. Coffee and tea tasted noticeably cleaner, and because the system dispenses hot water instantly, I found myself using it throughout the day instead of waiting on my kettle to heat up.
The removable pitcher is a little stroke of genius. I kept it in the refrigerator so I’d always have cold purified water available. When it’s hot outdoors, I want cold water, so being able to grab the pitcher and pour a glass makes it easier to keep up with my hydration goals.
Is the M6H worth the price?
The M6H currently sells for $329 on Amazon, and for households that regularly buy bottled water or dislike complicated installations, I think it’s worth the cost. The convenience factor alone is substantial. It works well in kitchens, offices, bathrooms, and even small workspaces where you want access to clean water.
It’s not a tiny appliance, so buyers should plan for some counter space, but the tradeoff is a feature-packed system that combines reverse osmosis purification, instant hot water, and portable cold-water storage in one unit.
For anyone who wants high-quality drinking water without modifying plumbing, the Waterdrop M6H is one of the most user-friendly systems I’ve tested.
