At CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, Takeuchi-US spotlighted a brand-new compact excavator, unveiled two concept machines and celebrated four decades of compact track loader innovation, reinforcing its position in the compact equipment segment that continues to support heavy civil and infrastructure projects across North America.

The company’s exhibit combines new equipment introductions with live presentations and a retrospective on the company’s product milestones. For general contractors working on large-scale transportation, utilities and site development projects, the focus on compact yet high-performance machines emphasize the growing role of agile equipment in supporting major builds.

TB3150R makes global debut

At the centre of Takeuchi’s display is the all-new TB3150R compact excavator, making its first public appearance at the show. While detailed specifications have yet to be released, Takeuchi says the TB3150R represents the next step in its equipment evolution, building on the brand’s long-standing reputation for durability, performance and operator-focused design.

Compact excavators continue to play a critical role on large projects, handling trenching, utility installation, finishing work and operations in space-restricted zones where larger iron cannot efficiently operate. The TB3150R’s debut signals Takeuchi’s intent to further refine performance and operator experience in this competitive segment.

Alongside the new excavator, two concept machines have been officially unveiled. The prototypes will remain on display throughout the event, offering contractors a glimpse into how customer feedback, remote-operation capabilities and greener jobsite solutions may influence the next generation of compact equipment.

Honouring 40 years of CTL innovation

Takeuchi is also marking 40 years of compact track loader (CTL) innovation by displaying its original TL10 model. Developed in 1986 under founder Akio Takeuchi, the TL10 helped establish what would become the modern compact track loader category in North America.

For contractors today, CTLs remain indispensable for grading, material handling and attachment-driven applications on complex infrastructure sites. By showcasing the original TL10 alongside new machines, Takeuchi is drawing a direct line between its heritage and current product development.

Live presentations connect past, present and future

Through its “Takeuchi Live” stage sessions, the company is hosting daily presentations exploring its innovation history, emerging remote technologies integrated into the TB20e electric excavator and real-world operator stories. Sessions are also providing a closer look at the TB3150R and the newly revealed concept models.

As infrastructure spending accelerates and jobsite requirements evolve, compact equipment manufacturers are under pressure to deliver greater versatility, connectivity and sustainability. At CONEXPO 2026, Takeuchi’s blend of new iron and forward-looking concepts show contractors that compact machines remain central to productivity on even the largest heavy construction projects.
