To meet a rising demand in the data centre sector, PCL Construction Enterprises, Inc. has appointed Tyler Kautz vice-president, data centres. He will lead the company’s Mission Critical Center of Excellence, which is active in data centre construction in Canada and the United States.
Kautz takes the helm of a team that has delivered over 120 data centre and mission critical projects, including complex, large-scale retrofits, new builds that have included Tier IV fault-tolerant projects, and critical environment upgrades.
“Tyler represents the future of PCL. He brings deep expertise, strong client relationships, and a collaborative leadership style that reflects our values,” said Cathy Orquiola, president, western U.S. for PCL Construction. “As we expand our mission critical and data centre operations, I’m confident his leadership will continue to position PCL as the builder of choice in high-tech, fast-growing markets.”
Kautz, a nearly 20-year PCL veteran, previously served as vice-president and district manager in Seattle, where he played a pivotal role in expanding PCL’s presence across the Northwest. He was instrumental in building relationships with major technology clients and led the original business case study that inspired the launch of PCL’s dedicated data centre division.
“I’m honoured to lead PCL’s data centre efforts at such a pivotal moment,” said Kautz. “We’ve built a strong foundation with our mission critical team, and I’m looking forward to driving continued innovation for clients navigating the next wave of digital infrastructure demands.”
Kautz will continue to support the Northwest community while leading PCL’s data centre strategy from Seattle.
