Broccolini has officially begun construction on Nokia’s new Ottawa Innovation Campus, a 750,000-sq.-ft. research and development facility located in the Kanata North Tech Park. The project marks a significant addition to Ottawa’s technology sector and represents one of Broccolini’s largest developments in the region.
As the project’s development and construction partner, Broccolini is responsible for delivering the full scope of the campus, bringing together construction teams, trades and project partners as work moves into the active build phase.
The facility is being developed to meet high sustainability standards, incorporating LEED principles, low-carbon materials and resilient energy systems. For Canadian general contractors and subcontractors, the project highlights the continued demand for large-scale, technology-focused buildings that require coordination across multiple disciplines, including structural, mechanical, electrical and specialty systems.
Broccolini expands Ottawa construction presence
The Nokia Ottawa Innovation Campus represents another milestone in Broccolini’s continued growth in the Ottawa market. The company is also expanding its local workforce across development, construction and project delivery roles to support the project and future opportunities in the region.
“To be chosen to develop and build a campus of this importance for a global technology leader is a mark of real trust, and it is exactly the kind of complex, high-profile work Broccolini is built to deliver,” said James Beach, Executive Vice-President, Real Estate Development at Broccolini.
“This is one of the most significant projects in our history, and we are proud to be building it here in Ottawa,” Beach added.
Supporting Canada’s evolving construction landscape
The Nokia Ottawa Innovation Campus joins Broccolini’s portfolio of major industrial, commercial and technology projects across Canada. The development reflects growing demand for advanced facilities that combine high-performance building systems with sustainability-focused design.
For contractors, the project provides an example of the scale and complexity of next-generation commercial construction, where collaboration, technical expertise and efficient project delivery are critical to meeting increasingly demanding client requirements.
