Snow and ice can snap weak limbs, so the time to cut out dead wood is before winter storms arrive. Right now, Amazon is dropping prices on pruning tools, including the Corona ClassicCUT Forged Bypass Pruner for $23.39 (was $33.80). Its forged-steel blade cuts stems and branches up to 1 inch thick.
The discounts include hand pruners and loppers from Corona, Fiskars, Gardena, and Bahco, plus cordless pole saws and hedge trimmers from Worx, Greenworks, and Ego. For dead wood, an anvil pruner takes less hand strength; save bypass pruners for live stems, where they make cleaner cuts. For trimming small stems and container plants, the Corona Long Straight Snip sells for just $8.19 (was $11.99).
Corona ClassicCUT Forged Bypass Pruner
Now $23.39 (was $33.80)
Make individual cuts on stems and small branches up to 1 inch thick. This forged bypass pruner has a resharpenable blade and a sap groove that helps keep plant residue from interfering with the cutting action.
Husqvarna 23-Inch Hedge Shears
Now $27.95 (was $64.99)
Trim thin outer growth and make controlled cuts along hedge edges without a battery or extension cord. These manual hedge shears are suited to light shaping when the plant’s pruning season allows.
Worx 20V 20-Inch Pole Hedge Trimmer
Now $94.99 (was $179.99)
Reach taller hedge sections from the ground and adjust the cutting head for tops and sides. This cordless pole hedge trimmer has a 20-inch blade and a 10-position adjustable head; a battery and charger are included.

Match the tool to the cut: snips for thin stems, loppers for branches beyond a hand pruner’s capacity, and pruning saws for thicker wood.
